Thanks to this unique design, the switch position is instantly identifiable without the need for visual inspection. The porthole and body are coated in thermoplastic rubber to extend their life and reduce impact noise when used for fishing. These ergonomic features are a major advantage over circular aluminum flashlights, which provide no feedback on the grip position and, in some cases, even require two hands to turn them on. The switch has three positions: off, momentary on with automatic return, and on. The "momentary on" position is particularly useful for fishing because it allows flashing with a simple press. The spring-loaded lanyard can be adjusted to suit the user's needs, but its elasticity allows for easy removal in an emergency. Power is supplied by four AA batteries, both alkaline and rechargeable.
