The fender with the best quality/price ratio
Majoni represents tradition and avant-garde in the production of fenders , and its Star Serieshas been the only reference for boaters and shipowners for generations, guaranteeing unbeatablequality and price .
And it is from sharing these ideals that the idea of partnering with HiNelsonwas born : combining Majoni's historical efficiency with HiNelson's unmistakable brand . Produced in soft PVC, with a white body and blue cap, thehigh quality of the material used makes them resistant to UV rays while insuring against color variations and rubbing marks on the boat's broadside. All Majoni-HiNelson Star Series Fenders are equipped with double hooking slots, making them fully efficient in all placements on board: from the stern bridge, to the foredeck.
How to choose the right fender for your boat
Some boaters consider the choice of fender length, a very subjective choice. Let's start with an assumption: the better we can repair our boat from shocks, the more comfortable we will be.
However, it is possible to give standard guidelines for the choice of fenders.
The fender must be able to cover the point of impact of the dead work. It is essential to hang them from the stanchions or on the side bollards, so that in times of sailing, they are easy to get back into the boat.
It is important not to overinflate the fender as it may lose its shock-absorbing power and indeed, cause the opposite effect. In this regard, it is essential to remember to check the pressure of the fenders at least annually.
The height of the fender should be at 2/3 of the height of the deadrise.
Never use undersized fenders for your boat, they would have absolutely no effect!
How many fenders to use?
A minimum of fenders we recommend is 6. Spaced approximately 2/2.5 meters apart. This way we will have total coverage of the boat. There are sometimes, however, those who prefer to be safer by reducing the space between the fenders.
How to further protect the fenders?
Use our fender cover socks, the effect is twofold: it protects the hull from stains that can be caused by the deterioration of PVC, and it allows you to always have clean fenders. In the event of soiling, it will be very easy to wash the cover socks.
In case you want to clean and degrease the fenders, you can use products designed just for this purpose, such as Iosso's Marina Cleaner.
