The Tohatsu 40hp Mega 4 Stroke is distinguished by its sleek design and low weight, starting at only 96.5 kg, making it the lightest in its class. The SOHC system with exclusive 9-valve design ensures high performance and unprecedented fuel efficiency.

Equipped with electronic fuel injection and a microcomputer-programmed ignition system, it ensures fast and smooth starts. The high-efficiency 21-amp alternator provides constant power, while the new lower-ratio gearbox ensures more torque at low rpm.

The engine is designed for ease of operation, with adjustable steering friction and flaps to reduce maneuvering effort. Models equipped with electric trim and tilt offer even more precise control in different sailing conditions.

For added reliability, the Tohatsu 40hp incorporates an exhaust system through the propeller for a quieter ride and an integrated freshwater flushing system for easy maintenance. Variable idle control allows speed adjustment from 650 to 950 rpm, while the trochoidal oil pump ensures effective lubrication and longer component life.

Safety is a priority, with visual and audible warnings for low oil pressure and overheating, run-start protection and safety lanyard, a standard feature on all Tohatsu outboards. RPM limiter ensures operation is always under control.
