Designed for high performance and high efficiency, constructed of marine corrosion-resistant material, it employs quick-connect M90 Mach single cable. The central position of the shaft makes it particularly suitable where space behind the dashboard is limited.

Unlike hydraulic steering, mechanical outboard steering transmits power directly from the steering wheel to the engine via a cable. The main advantages of mechanical steering are its lower cost and simple installation, making it more suitable for beginners than the more complex hydraulic steering. Furthermore, there's also a tactile component, as mechanical outboard steering provides a more direct feeling of control over the helm than hydraulic steering.
