The RS40-B includes a Class B AIS transceiver that not only receives AIS targets but also broadcasts your vessel's position to nearby AIS-equipped vessels. This allows other mariners to locate your vessel in any conditions, day or night. A built-in AIS receiver monitors the position of other AIS-equipped vessels nearby, helping to avoid potential collisions in crowded harbors and canals. AIS information can be displayed on the radio's built-in screen or overlaid on a chart or radar screen using a compatible multifunction display.

Removable ergonomic grip microphone
The RS40-B's removable jack microphone can be connected to the front or rear of the radio, while optional extension cables allow the radio and microphone to be mounted separately. This provides a simple and cost-effective solution for any installation location, eliminating cable clutter. For example, the RS40-B can be suspended, with no trailing cables, while the microphone is connected to an extension jack on the console.

Expandable with wireless handset
Add an optional HS40 wireless handset to take your radio anywhere on the boat. Each handset duplicates the radio's display and controls, allowing remote access to all key functions. Up to two handsets can be connected to a single RS40-B, and with multiple handsets connected, the radio can also be used as an onboard intercom.
